Protocol training for EMS agencies.
Think your crews already know the protocols?
We'll build a quiz from your own protocols and send it to your EMTs and Medics to see if there are any gaps. Yes, for free.
Get Your Free Protocol BaselineHow does protocol training work for an agency?
You send us your protocol PDF, and we build a question bank for each certification level, every question checked against your document and cited to its page. Crews open it by link in any browser, and your training officer sees which topics each crew is weakest on.
Do crews have to upload or install anything?
No. Your agency sends the protocols once and we do the rest: we build the training, host it on your own subdomain and keep it current. Crews open it by link in any browser with nothing to install.
How long until we are live?
Seven days after we receive your protocol PDF. It lives on your own subdomain (youragency.protoquiz.com).
What does it cost?
ProtoQuiz is priced per provider and billed quarterly. Tell us your agency size and we will send a quote, with no add-ons or tiers. Subscribe for a year and get a discount.
What if our protocols change?
Send the new PDF. We update the questions against it, and crews see them on their next session. We can also quiz your providers on exactly what changed.

Why ProtoQuiz over generic training?
Faster onboarding. New hires learn your protocols, not a generic textbook.
Less time off the truck. Training comes to crews between calls, so you pull fewer people off shift to train.
Gaps caught early. See weak topics before they become mistakes in the field.
Continuous improvement. Training officers see where each crew needs more work.
CE documentation. Training time is logged for your medical director to approve.
Your protocols only. Every question cites the page of your own document.
How much money does it save?
At least $160 saved per provider a year. Over $16,000 a year for a 100-provider agency, before CE. Every input runs low.
- 25% turnover = 25 new hires × $8,000 to replace each = $200,000 a year (AAA via EMS1: 20 to 36% turnover, $6,780 EMT, $9,113 paramedic)
- About 35% of that is training. ProtoQuiz cuts 20% of it = $14,000
- Training officer: 2 hours a week off quiz building and tracking = 100 hours × $23.15 = $2,315
- $16,315 ÷ 100 = at least $160 per provider
Plus about $240 per provider in CE. One 5-minute quiz per shift logs about 10 hours a year for your CE record (your agency grants the CE). The same 10 hours as a paid class: 100 providers × 10 hours × $23.15 = $23,150, plus 50 instructor hours = $1,158. About $24,300 a year, before overtime, backfill and course fees.
Why it is a floor. $23.15 an hour is the median from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics for EMTs and paramedics combined (May 2025), before benefits. Paramedics alone earn about $29, and training officers more. The 35% training share, 20% cut and 2 hours a week are our estimates, all at the low end.
Not counted: mistakes. Every QA/QI case is paid review and remediation time, and preventing one medication error that would have become a lawsuit can save more than all of the above.
What do our crews get?
Easy access to training on the protocols they use every single shift, and their time logged for your CE record.
What does my training officer get?
The topics your crew is weakest on, by name. Assign training on them to the whole crew in a couple of clicks, or use them to plan hands-on training in person. CE records are ready without chasing paperwork.
What does our medical director get?
A CE record to review and sign off. Crews train on your own protocols, and every question cites the page it came from.
How much extra work is this for our agency?
Very little. It is set and forget: send us your protocols and we do the heavy lifting. We build the training, host it on your own subdomain and keep it current. Crews open it by link in any browser, with nothing to install.
